In an effort to let everyone know how my season is progressing this year I'm going to attempt a blog. I am a journal writer but I have never really kept a blog before so this will be a bit of a process for me, but hopefully it will turn out well.
My second meet of the year was the Air Force Indoor invite. This is one of my favorite places to run. When I was in college (I'm about to date myself a bit here) BYU was still a part of the Mountain West Conference and we had many of our indoor conference meets here. The BYU women's team was very successful in the MWC, in fact leading up to and during my time at BYU the women's team had only lost 1 indoor and 1 outdoor conference title. Personally I always love the championship meets and I love to return to the places that I have experience success in the past.
This year we decided to work a little more on speed and so for the Air Force meet I ran the 60 meter dash and the 200. The meet was a 2 day meet with the first day consisting of 1 round of the 60 and 1 round of the 200.
Air Force Indoor Invite 2013
1/25-26/2013
60 meter dash round 1
You can find me in lane 3 (lane 1 is the closest to the infield) in the light blue top.
Time (7.74)
200 meter dash round 1
As you can see from the aerial view I'm in lane 4.
Time (24.80)
Day 2
I had made it to the next round in the 60 and the finals in the 200 meter dash.
60 meter dash round 2
Today I had a different top on I'm wearing black and I'm again in lane 3
Time (7.76)
60 meter dash FINALS
I was really surprised that I made it to the 60 finals. But here I am and in lane 3 no less.
I have not watched this video all the way through. I got the start of
my life and I've watched the first 1/2 of the video to see my start but
that is about all that I could watch because this is the race that I
pulled my hamstring.
Time (8.84)
After the 60 finals Kyle and I loaded up the truck and drove home. And so begins the rehab on my hamstring. When I pulled my hamstring it was painful, but just as painful was the recovery process.
